In the early 1970s, a small business named Boronia Engineering was born. Frank Pendock, a passionate entrepreneur, took the reins and began crafting an array of fabricated products. From hills hoists to towbars, exhausts to basketball rings, and even golf buggies, the modest workshop behind the supermarket in Boronia buzzed with creativity and hard work.

For Frank Pendock, Boronia Engineering was more than just a business; it was a place where family bonds grew stronger. His wife, Margaret, and their children, Tony and Sandra, joined the workforce, creating a harmonious atmosphere where they worked together, side by side. Of course, the occasional disagreement arose, but it was all part of the journey.
1980
From Boronia Engineering to Boronia Towbars
As the 1980s dawned, the Pendock family noticed an increasing demand for towing-related products. With Tony's expertise in design and manufacturing and Frank and Margaret's invaluable guidance, they made a crucial decision to focus on towing equipment. Thus, Boronia Towbars emerged as the new face of Boronia Engineering, serving the Victorian, NSW, and Tasmanian markets.
1989
The Path to Expansion
With sustained growth and a dedication to their craft, Boronia Towbars thrived. In 1989, they moved to a larger manufacturing workshop in Ferntree Gully, Victoria, marking the beginning of their expansion into various Australian states. Tony led the charge in design and manufacturing, while Frank handled sales until his well-deserved retirement in 1993. Margaret, on the other hand, managed accounts and office duties until 2004.
2006
Becoming BTA Towing Equipment
In 2006, Boronia Towbars took a bold step towards rebranding itself as BTA Towing Equipment. This transformation was more than just a name change; it symbolized their commitment to innovation and staying ahead of the game. With a fresh perspective, they continued their journey towards excellence.
2009
A New Home
Never one to settle for less, BTA Towing Equipment upgraded its manufacturing plant in 2009, moving to a spacious 20,000 square feet facility in Knoxfield, Victoria. Equipped with automated infrastructure, modern warehousing, and cutting-edge office facilities, they were ready to tackle new challenges.
2019
Rising Above: The Dandenong South Facility
BTA Towing Equipment's dedication to quality and Australian-made products paid off. By 2019, their remarkable growth necessitated another relocation, this time to an even larger manufacturing facility in Dandenong South, Victoria. Undeterred by the allure of overseas manufacturing, they remained steadfast in their commitment to providing top-notch products to their loyal distributor network and customers.
2023
